The 5 Must-Have Photos with Your Veil

There are many moments during your wedding – both ceremony and reception – that are worth capturing through the lens of a camera. Here are five must-have photos you should experiment with on your veil.
1. The Veil Spotlight
This may be the one and only veil you’ll ever wear – apart from the occasional costume party – and it deserves to have a shot of its own! Long veils are often hung with the dress and shoes, while bird cage veils are sometimes posed against pillows. Be sure to get our photographer to capture any details and adornments.
2. Donning the Veil
Some of my favorite pictures are of a bride getting ready for her wedding. I love the quiet pictures of her getting ready alone, and I love the pictures of the bride, her mom, and her bridesmaids getting ready together. There’s this wonderful flurry of nervous energy when all the women are together and fussing over the bride. You’ll definitely want to remember this moment.
3. Over your face
Brides can either walk down the aisle with their faces veiled or unveiled, but even if you choose to wear your blusher up, I think you should still take a few pictures of it down. It might now make it into your wedding album, but the flipside, the effect might be magical.
If you do choose to wear your blusher down, talk to your photographer about capturing a before and after shot when your groom lifts the veil. A wide shot is best because it will capture both of your expressions!
4. Walking the Aisle
The number one photo that should absolutely be taken with your veil on is the image of you walking or being walked down the aisle. The veil will add a more romantic feel to the photo.
5. The Kiss
Kissing under a long veil is so very romantic, while kissing with a birdcage veil adds a hint of mystery and vintage flair. Whether it’s during the ceremony, the portrait shots, or otherwise, kiss often! Your guests will appreciate it too!
