If you’re planning your wedding, you’re probably no stranger to the pressures of what everyone else wants you to do for your big day. And while you do have to take some things and people into account when planning your day, it is still your day.
And when you’re planning the most wonderful day of your life. There are no rules!
So when it comes to picking out your bridesmaid dresses, why not mix it up a little! Sure, you may have six bridesmaids with similar figures who will all look gorgeous in the same dress, but then again, maybe you don’t. Maybe you’ve got girls with totally different frames, styles, and personality.
So why not pick out a few coordinating bridesmaid dresses that will flatter the figure of each of your girls. You can choose to stay with the same color for all of the dresses, or choose a few shades to compliment each other.
But remember: it’s your day! So make sure that your bridesmaids don’t run too wild on their choices. You’ll probably want to make some firm guidelines for them to follow. Here are some examples:
- If you want to go with one color but allow your maids to choose different styles, choose a designer or collection for your girls to stick with. If all of the dresses are from the same designer, you’ll know that the color will be the exact same.
- For another option, you could choose the style of the dress and then give the bridesmaids a few color choices for it.
- With different styles, you may want all of the dresses to be the same length, so you would want to specify tea-length, floor-length, etc. before the girls choose their style.
There are so many possibilities with dresses, so let you imagination run wild. But don’t forget that a little tradition can be great on a wedding day, so matching your bridesmaid dresses is still a great option too!
