Congratulations! You just got engaged! You and your new fiancé are incredibly in love, and you’re dying to tell absolutely everyone! Engagement is a fabulous and fun time!
But… now you’ve got to start thinking about planning the best day of your life: your wedding day! And that can be an exciting but very daunting task! Gone are the days where you borrow a nice dress from a friend and plan the wedding a gruelingly long two weeks out to the church for a short but sweet ceremony and a lovely little potluck dinner afterwards. Nope.
Today, weddings are a grand affair! The Knot reports that the average engagement lasts 14 months* in order to plan the perfect day! There are the flowers to choose, the invitations to design, the decorations to create, and of course, the dress to find! Thankfully, there are a plethora of resources out there for all of you grooms- and brides-to-be! Here are a few that we think are fabulous. But don’t just trust us, these companies and sites speak for themselves!
What’s the site we love the most for all things wedding?! TheKnot.com. Hands down, this site is quite possibly the best wedding resource there is! There are more helpful features than I could possibly tell you about in a month’s worth of posts! But for a very brief overview, you can set up a free account to keep all of your wedding planning in one centralized location. With an account, you can create wedding website so that you and your guests can check out everything related to your wedding. You can search for vendors for every part of your big day and read reviews from their past customers. And you can take advantage of their professional knowledge, advice, checklists, and budget tools. Definitely check out The Knot to help plan your wedding day!
Another great wedding planning site is WeddingWire.com. Their site is very similar to The Knot in that they function as a one-stop planning guide for your wedding! They have great spreadsheets and tools to help you manage your planning process. And of course, they’ve got great tools to help you shop for your dress and your vendors. And both sites boast forums where you can chat and exchange advice with other couples planning their days!
If you’re recently engaged and a little overwhelmed about planning a wedding from scratch, not to worry, The Knot and Wedding Wire can help!
