Every couple has their “how we met” story. Whether it’s sweet, funny, low-key, or crazy, it’s always an endearing portrait of love blossoming between two people. And such stories demand to be told! Luckily for you, here at Tower Studios, we offer the How We Met video option.
Sometime before the wedding, we sit down with the engaged couple (you!) and film you telling your special story. You can then share the video online on your wedding website, or we’ve also seen the video screened at the reception for all the guests to see. (Similar to the [Same Day Edit] we offer!)
However, not every couple is immediately sure they want a How We Met video. Would it be cool, or too much? Sweet, or corny? Do our guests want to see it, or would they rather get to the dancing and food?
A How We Met video definitely has its advantages. Playing it at the reception is often a great way to share your backstory – because everyone is there for you and your relationship! All your loved ones who knew you back then will find it fun to revisit those memories.
It’s also a good way for people who aren’t already familiar with your story, like newer acquaintances or more distant family members, to hear it for the first time. You’d be surprised, but quite often, many people have no idea how their engaged friends originally got together! “How did Tim and Amanda meet? Well, I don’t know, I’ve never really thought about it. They’ve just kind of always been dating!”
Thus, the How We Met video screening provides a great opportunity to let everyone take a moment to reflect on your origins as a couple, and how far you’ve come since you first met.
Getting the story on video allows you the luxury of doing multiple takes to tell it right. This is an opportunity to immortalize the tale exactly how you want it. No loose ends or forgotten details. And since your story is unique to you, there is no cookie cutter formula. The video can be as sincere or silly as you want. It’s all dependent on your taste and personality, which will shine through in the video.
