Traditionally, many wedding guest books have been provided by the church or other venue of worship where the wedding ceremony is being held. But in recent years, people have personalized them and made them a little more unique or exciting. Here are some suggestions for cool guest book ideas!
A Book That’s Special To You As a Couple – Rather than a plain guest book, with entirely empty pages intended to be filled with signatures, it could be neat to have your guests sign a copy of a book that’s important to you/your partner. Maybe a shared childhood favorite, or a book that changed your life as an adult, or one that you and your future spouse have bonded over. A book full of signatures and drawings and well wishes would be a cool keepsake!
The Map – A map of the world is a bit more visually stimulating than the typical guest log. It’s interesting seeing how the signatures interact with the countries and continents. Many people like to have their guests sign wherever the guest thinks would make a good honeymoon location. The world map is a chance for your guests to get creative! (You could even use a globe, though curved surfaces are more difficult to write on.)
Wooden or Stone Sign – Rather than paper and pen, some people like to have their guests write on a polished stone or wooden sign with a marker. Usually the sign will be engraved with the names of the couple and the date, and maybe the location or a sweet saying or message. One thing worth noting: these are a bit more permanent than a traditional book. They won’t fade as much through the years, and they’re easier to clean up in case of a mess. They can also be displayed prominently in your home, on a mantelpiece or shelf.
Sculpture – Similar to the sign, a sculpture is a good display piece and an opportunity to express your personality. Commissioning artwork may be expensive, (especially if the artist is not a friend or family member) but can often be worth it, if it’s something that really expresses part of you or your partner’s personality. Though much like the globe, a sculpture might be harder for your guests to write or doodle on, depending on the shape and texture. But people would appreciate the uniqueness!
These are just a few possibilities for a cool and interesting guest book. It’s just another opportunity to add flair and personality to your wedding celebrations!
