Looking to make your wedding day extra special for your husband-to-be? Here are some ways to go the extra mile!
Write Him a Letter – Letter writing is a lost art. You can pen him a personal note, to be opened on the morning of the wedding! It doesn’t have to be anything too fancy, as long as it comes from the heart. A letter is also a good way to include absolutely everything you want to say, if you’re writing your vows and you think the vows get too long. (Bonus: include a small gift with the letter, like cool socks or some cologne!)
Groom Cake – In addition to the main wedding cake, you can order a smaller cake specifically for the groom. Groom cakes are usually fully themed, with a fondant shell, lots of icing writing, and plastic cake decorations. The theme can be whatever you choose! His alumni, his favorite sports team, his favorite film franchise. Whatever you think would make his jaw drop!
Hire a Mascot – Most sports franchises will let you book an official mascot for the night. So, let’s say if your partner is a Cardinals mega-fan, you can surprise him with a special appearance from Fredbird! Mascots are good at riling up crowds and getting people in a celebratory mood, so this can give the reception an energetic start. Plus, it’s a great photo opportunity!
Surprise Pizza Party – It’s late, the reception is winding down, the food is dwindling, and then a pizza guy waltzes in with a stack of fresh pies for everyone. The groom and his groomsmen will surely be thankful! A well-timed pizza delivery driver is almost as exciting as a mascot!
Rent a Getaway Car – If your fiancé loves cars, you can surprise him with a cool getaway vehicle for exiting the ceremony or reception. Whether it’s a modern, souped up Ferrari or a retro ‘50s Mercury, there are plenty of services that rent out cool and rare automobiles!
Cameo Video from a Celebrity – Cameo is a service where you can pay celebrities to send you a personalized video message. You can give them a whole script or just a prompt, depending on what you’d like. Their site has tons of comedians, athletes, musicians, and actors to choose from. And most of their rates are reasonable! Hire one of your Groom’s favorites to record something for him, and then screen it at the reception as a surprise. All your guests will be very amused! (Especially if they’ve never heard of Cameo!)
Skywriting – Go all out and hire a skywriter to craft a message in the air above your ceremony/reception venue! This is maybe the priciest option, but definitely the most extravagant. Walking outside after saying “I do,” looking up, and seeing your names written in the sky would be an unforgettable moment that will blow his mind!
These are just some ideas to get you started. No one knows your groom better than you do, so go ahead and customize these however you see fit! We’re sure that whatever you do will put a smile on his face and make him say, “Wow!”
